Colour Styles

This page describes Dirtbag’s global style variations. It previews the colours in content, but it does not change the active site style.

To do that, use Appearance → Editor → Styles.

The preview panels are plain HTML sections with stable fragment links. No accordion state, Alpine, Reef, VanJS, or Dirtbag script is needed.

Colour style sections

Minimalist

White page, black ink, blue link.

A plain blue link and a square button belong here.

Evokes: a hand-typed label, a motel receipt, instructions taped inside the glove box.

Newspaper

Ink, paper, and a 1974 10¢ Patrick Henry maroon stamp.

Classifieds-grade accent link.

Evokes: free weeklies, folded zines, events circled with a gas-station pen.

Terminal

Evokes: MS-DOS prompts, hand-labelled floppies, a monitor that warms the room before your PC boots.

Amber CRT

Late-night amber, no window chrome.

Amber link glow.

Evokes: library VT220 terminals, shop invoices, and the hum after everyone else went home.

Blueprint

Navy field, white line, cyan mark.

Evokes: garage floor plans, a borrowed t-square, and a truck bed full of almost-right lumber.

Hi-vis

Safety yellow with black type.

Roadside blue link.

Evokes: caution tape, rain gear, and a no-name yellow box of mac-and-cheese next to the hot plate.

Real switching

  1. Open Appearance → Editor.
  2. Open Styles.
  3. Pick one of the Dirtbag style variations that uses more CSS.
  4. Save. WordPress stores that choice in the database.
