A straight apostrophe after bold text can come out curled the wrong way in WordPress. The bug is old, tiny, and exactly the sort of thing Dirtbag notices.
A magazine layout kept breaking in one browser and nowhere else. We accused the cache, an extension, lazy images, the screen, and finally Chrome itself. The culprit was one line of CSS — ours, sort of — and it took a stripped-down test page to catch it.
An apostrophe kept wandering onto its own line. Fixing it cost a split string, a flexbox quirk, and two exclamation points. Worth it? Barely — and only because the joke earned the ride.
Dirtbag’s whole design lives in one 8 KB file. It is small for the same reason the truck has crank windows: most of the options were left off on purpose.
